About the treatment
What Is the ZO Body Peel?
The ZO Body Peel uses the ZO Skin Health Stimulate Peel formula, the same clinical-grade AHA/BHA peel used in our ZO facial treatments, applied to the body. Body skin is thicker than facial skin and frequently accumulates dead skin cells, congestion, and uneven pigmentation that standard scrubs cannot adequately address.
The ZO Stimulate Peel penetrates meaningfully deeper, delivering clinical-grade acids to accelerate cell turnover, decongest pores, and reveal smoother, clearer, more even-toned skin beneath.
What it addresses
Rough Texture, Dullness, and Body Breakouts.
Your practitioner will confirm the most appropriate areas and approach at your appointment.
01 - Texture
Rough & Uneven Texture
AHA acids chemically loosen dead skin cell bonds, addressing rough, bumpy texture including keratosis pilaris where standard products struggle.
Rough, bumpy texture (incl. KP)
Post-shaving bumps
Dry, flaky body skin
Course recommended for KP.
02 - Tone
Dullness & Uneven Skin Tone
AHA/BHA accelerates shedding of pigmented surface cells, progressively improving brightness on elbows, knees, underarms, and sun-damaged areas.
Darkened elbows & knees
Sun-related pigmentation
Post-inflammatory pigmentation
Progressive over a course.
03 - Acne
Body Acne & Congestion
BHA penetrates the pore lining to address congestion from within, targeting back, chest, and shoulder breakouts at a depth topical washes cannot reach.
Back, chest & shoulder acne
Blackheads & congested pores
Post-acne pigmentation
Not for open lesions.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What Is the Difference Between the ZO Body Peel and a Standard Body Scrub?
A standard scrub physically abrades only the outermost skin surface. The ZO Body Peel uses clinical-grade AHA and BHA acids to chemically loosen dead skin cells across multiple layers and penetrate the pore lining, addressing texture, tone, and congestion at a depth not possible with physical exfoliation alone.
Is It the Same Formula as the Facial ZO Stimulate Peel?
Yes. The same ZO Skin Health Stimulate Peel formula is used for both facial and body applications. The application technique and areas treated differ, but the clinical-grade AHA/BHA formulation is the same.
Does It Hurt?
Most clients describe a warming or mild tingling sensation during treatment, which resolves when the peel is neutralised. Generally well-tolerated. Tolerance varies between individuals and areas.
Is There Any Downtime?
No significant downtime. Most clients return to normal activities immediately. Some peeling or shedding is expected in the days following as old skin cells shed. This is normal and typically resolves within five to seven days.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
For texture and tone improvement, three to four sessions spaced two to four weeks apart is typically recommended. For body acne, four to six sessions may be needed. Your practitioner will outline an individualised plan at your appointment.
Is It Suitable for Keratosis Pilaris?
Yes. The AHA component is particularly effective for KP, helping to loosen the keratin plugs that cause rough, bumpy texture. A course of treatments is recommended for meaningful improvement. Results vary.
What Should I Avoid Before and After Treatment?
Before treatment, avoid retinoids, AHA/BHA products, waxing, and prolonged sun exposure for at least one week. After treatment, apply SPF 50+ daily, avoid direct sun, retinoids, AHA/BHA, and exfoliating scrubs for at least one week. Full aftercare instructions are provided at your appointment.
No consultation required. Simply book online or call your preferred clinic. A skin assessment will be performed at your appointment to confirm suitability and the most appropriate areas.
Results are not guaranteed and vary between individuals. ZO Skin Health is an independent brand. Not appropriate during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Avoid sun exposure before and after treatment.
