About the treatment
A focused clinical treatment designed to physically clear congested pores, removing blackheads, whiteheads, and comedones that contribute to breakouts, dull skin, and the appearance of enlarged pores. Unlike topical-only treatments that work gradually over time, extraction provides immediate physical clearance of blocked follicles.
Performed by trained practitioners using professional needle extraction technique, paired with Medipledge post-procedural care applied immediately after to calm and restore the skin barrier.
Post-extraction care
Clinically validated post-procedural skincare · Asian skin specialist
Developed by dermatology experts and clinically validated in hospital dermatology departments, Medipledge is formulated specifically for post-cosmetic treatment skin barrier restoration — particularly for Asian skin types. Applied immediately after extraction, it helps:
Calm redness and post-extraction inflammation
Support the skin's barrier repair process
Reduce the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation
Deliver targeted hydration to freshly cleared skin
Medipledge products are full retail products — the remaining portion from your session is packaged for you to take home. Continue applying over the following days so your skin recovery doesn't stop when you leave the clinic.
How it works
Most clients experience mild redness for a few hours, which typically resolves the same day. Individual responses vary.
Step 01
Your practitioner assesses your skin and identifies areas of congestion. Clients with active inflammatory acne or open lesions may require a different approach - your practitioner will advise.
Step 02
The skin is cleansed and a softening solution applied to congested areas to prepare pores for extraction — minimising discomfort and reducing the risk of post-extraction marking.
Step 03
Professional needle extraction is performed across areas of congestion — clearing blackheads, whiteheads, and comedones using technique that minimises trauma to surrounding skin.
Step 04
Medipledge products are applied immediately to calm the skin and support barrier restoration. The remaining products are packaged for you to take home.
Step 05
Your practitioner advises on how to use your Medipledge take-home products over the following days — and on any additional aftercare to support and maintain your results.

FAQ
Our Medical Grade Facials include extraction as one step within a broader protocol — alongside active serums, ultrasound delivery, massage, and finishing care. The Extraction Facial is standalone and focused entirely on pore clearing. If your primary goal is congestion and you do not need a full facial treatment, the Extraction Facial is the more targeted option. Needle extraction is included in all Medical Grade Facials.
Extraction can involve some discomfort, particularly over areas of deep congestion. A softening preparation is applied beforehand to make the process more comfortable. Most clients find it tolerable. Tolerance varies between individuals and areas treated.
Most clients experience mild redness for a few hours following extraction. Medipledge post-care is applied immediately after to help calm the skin. Most clients find redness resolves within a few hours to a day. Individual responses vary.
Medipledge is a premium skincare brand developed by dermatology experts, focused on post-procedural skin barrier restoration and clinically validated for Asian skin types. It is applied immediately after extraction to calm the skin, support barrier repair, and reduce the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Because they are full retail products, the remaining portion from your session is packaged for you to take home.
The take-home quantity is based on the remaining product from the portion used during your in-clinic treatment. Your practitioner will advise on how to use it over the following days to continue your skin's recovery.
For persistently congested skin, once every four to six weeks is common. Your practitioner will advise on the most appropriate interval for your skin.
Avoid touching the treated areas, applying makeup for at least a few hours, and using active skincare such as retinol or AHA/BHA for 24–48 hours. Apply SPF daily. Full aftercare instructions are provided at your appointment.
