Do I need a referral to visit?
No referral is required. You can book a consultation directly through our website or by calling either clinic.
Are your treatments available to all genders?
Yes — our treatments are available to all clients regardless of gender. Many of our skin, body, and wellness treatments are equally effective for all skin types and presentations.
Consultations
Is the initial consultation free?
Yes — consultations at Prime Cosmetic Clinic are complimentary. There is no obligation to proceed with any treatment following your consultation.
What happens at a consultation?
Your practitioner will conduct a thorough skin assessment and discuss your concerns, treatment history, lifestyle, and goals. Based on this, they will outline a personalised treatment plan — including the recommended treatment or combination, expected timeline, and realistic outcomes for your skin. No treatment is recommended before this assessment is complete.
How long does a consultation take?
Consultations typically take 20 to 45 minutes depending on the complexity of your concerns.
Can I have my treatment on the same day as my consultation?
In some cases, yes — depending on the treatment and availability. Your practitioner will advise at your consultation. For injectable treatments, a same-day appointment is subject to practitioner availability and clinical suitability.
Do I need to prepare anything before my consultation?
No special preparation is required. We recommend bringing a list of your current skincare products, any medications or supplements you are taking, and details of any previous aesthetic treatments — this helps your practitioner make the most appropriate recommendations.
Treatments
How do I know which treatment is right for me?
A complimentary consultation is the best starting point — your practitioner will assess your skin and recommend the most appropriate treatment or combination. You can also browse by concern on our website to understand your options before your appointment.
Are your treatments painful?
Most treatments involve minimal discomfort. Many device treatments use built-in cooling or numbing protocols. Injectable treatments use fine needles and are generally well tolerated. Your practitioner will discuss what to expect and manage your comfort throughout.
How many sessions will I need?
This varies by treatment and individual response. Some treatments produce meaningful results in a single session; others require a course for optimal outcomes. Your practitioner will outline the recommended number of sessions at consultation.
Are results guaranteed?
No aesthetic treatment can guarantee specific outcomes — individual response varies based on skin type, age, lifestyle, and the severity of the concern. Your practitioner will give you an honest assessment of what is realistically achievable for your specific presentation.
Can treatments be combined?
Yes — many clients benefit from combining treatments at different stages of their skin journey. Your practitioner will advise on appropriate combinations and sequencing at consultation.
Are your devices TGA cleared?
Yes — all devices used at Prime Cosmetic Clinic are TGA-cleared for their intended use in Australia.
Cosmetic Injectables
Why can't I see the names of some injectable treatments on your website?
Australian law prohibits the advertising of prescription medicines directly to the public — including naming specific prescription injectable products in public-facing materials. All available treatments, including prescription options, are discussed openly at your face-to-face consultation.
This applies to certain anti-wrinkle and filler treatments. TGA-registered medical devices such as REJURAN®, Juvelook®, and Radiesse® can be named — and are listed on the relevant treatment pages.
Who administers injectable treatments?
Injectable treatments involving prescription medicines are administered by our registered nurses, under the supervision of our consulting medical practitioner. A valid prescription is issued following a face-to-face consultation, in compliance with Australian regulatory requirements.
Do I need a consultation before injectable treatments?
Yes — all injectable treatments require a face-to-face consultation and a valid prescription where applicable. This is both a regulatory requirement and an important clinical step to ensure the treatment is appropriate and safe for you.
Are injectable treatments safe?
All injectable treatments at Prime Cosmetic Clinic are performed by trained registered nurses under medical supervision, using TGA-registered products. As with any medical treatment, there are potential risks and side effects — these will be discussed in full at your consultation before any treatment proceeds.
Booking & Payment
How do I book an appointment?
Book online through our website, or call either clinic directly — Melbourne: +61 491 338 888 · Canberra: +61 484 897 666.
Is a deposit required to book?
Consultations are free to book with no deposit required. Treatment appointments require a deposit of 20% of the treatment fee at the time of booking — applied toward the cost of your treatment on the day.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancel 7+ days before: full refund. Cancel less than 7 days before: deposit converted to clinic credit (valid 12 months). No-show: deposit forfeited. Reschedule with 24+ hours notice: free, deposit transferred. Promotional treatments: non-refundable and non-transferable. See our full Booking Policy for details.
Can I use clinic credit toward any treatment?
Credits can be applied toward any standard-priced treatment at either clinic. Credits cannot be redeemed for cash or applied toward promotional treatments. Valid for 12 months from the date of issue.
Results & Aftercare
When will I see results?
This varies by treatment. Some treatments produce visible improvement within days; others — particularly those that stimulate collagen production — develop progressively over weeks to months. Your practitioner will outline a realistic result timeline at consultation.
What aftercare is required?
Aftercare requirements vary by treatment. You will receive a specific aftercare protocol at your appointment. In general, most treatments require sun protection, avoiding heat and strenuous exercise for a short period, and following any specific product recommendations provided by your practitioner.
What if I'm not happy with my results?
We follow your results closely and encourage you to contact us if you have any concerns. Your practitioner will assess your outcome and discuss options — which may include a follow-up appointment, an adjustment to your plan, or additional treatment as appropriate. We are committed to honest communication and fair resolution of any concerns.
Is sun protection necessary after treatment?
Yes — particularly following laser, light, and resurfacing treatments. UV exposure following these treatments can cause new pigmentation, undo results, and increase the risk of post-inflammatory changes. Daily SPF 50+ is essential and non-negotiable following most skin treatments.
Pregnancy & Medical Conditions
Can I have treatments while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Most aesthetic treatments are not appropriate during pregnancy or breastfeeding. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant, please inform your practitioner before booking. Your safety is our priority and we will advise on what is appropriate at your stage.
I'm on medication — can I still have treatments?
Some medications affect suitability for certain treatments — including blood thinners, isotretinoin (Roaccutane), certain antibiotics, and others. Please inform your practitioner of all medications and supplements at your consultation. We will advise on any contraindications.
I have a medical condition — should I tell you before booking?
Yes — please inform us of any relevant medical conditions at your consultation. This includes autoimmune conditions, skin conditions, history of keloid scarring, metal implants, pacemakers, and any other conditions that may be relevant. Full disclosure helps us ensure your treatment is safe and appropriate.
